We ask God why.
We rant and rave against HIS sky.
We wander aimlessly through our intimate doubts and fears.
We mourn over the personal pain accrued in all our years.
But do we ever stop and wonder what HE is going through?
Do we ever take the time to see HIS holy point of view?
To choose to join HIM in HIS pain,
As HE grieves for our brokennes time and time again?
HE'S forced to watch us choose slavery to sin.
HE grieves the lost of HIS bride...do we feel HIS grief within?
Have you ever paused for just one moment to see
The pain HE bears - constantly - because of our own apathy?
Maybe our own grief in life is but a shadow
Of HIS great torture at our despair.
Maybe our own journey with disappointment
Is but a whisper next to the shout of HIS grief to bear.
You might feel lonely - imagine the solitude HE feels daily
As we blindly wallow in our sin...ever so gaily.
My God, my God, I have not the words
To express my sorrow at your grief.
Please change my heart to be more like yours
Allow me to find the union with you I seek.
Forgive us our sin - and make us whole in YOU alone.
And may our awareness of your heart never become undone.
